This week, President Donald Trump publicly praised the American edition of "I Am Giorgia: My Roots, My Principles," the autobiography by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The foreword is signed by Donald Trump Jr., the president's eldest son.

On Truth Social, Donald Trump congratulated the prime minister on the great work she is doing in Italy, said Meloni is an "inspiration for everyone" and invited her followers to buy the book.

"Giorgia Meloni, the GREAT prime minister of Italy, has written a new book," the president announced in his release. "Giorgia is doing an incredible job for the wonderful people of Italy, and this Book explores her journey of Faith, Family, and Love of Country, which gave her the Wisdom and Courage required to serve her Nation, and make her people proud. She is an inspiration to all. Get your copy today!"

Following the Republican leader's praise and widespread free promotion of her book, Giorgia Meloni responded gratefully for the gesture.

"Very kind, my friend! I think it is important people know who you are and where you are from to check if you are sincere in your political journey," the prime minister wrote.

From working-class neighborhood to prime minister

In her memoir, Giorgia Meloni speaks for the first time about herself in depth. She revisits her roots, her childhood and her relationship with her mother Anna, her sister Arianna, her grandparents Maria and Gianni, and the pain of her father's absence.

Likewise, the Italian prime minister shares her passion for politics, which took her from the working-class neighborhood of Garbatella, in Rome, to the government as a minister, and then to leading Brothers of Italy (FdI) and the European Conservatives and Reformists in the European Parliament.

"I have heard too many people talk about me and my ideas not to realize how different my life and I actually are from the way we are portrayed. So, I decided to open up, to show who I am, what I believe in, and how I got here," reads the book's preview.

Giorgia's memoirs in Spanish

Meloni's book was originally published in May 2021 by Rizzoli publishing house, before she became prime minister of Italy; the Spanish edition was published in 2023 and featured a foreword signed by Santiago Abascal, leader of Spanish conservative party Vox.

"Her ideas, her endeavors and her affections are born from daily experiences in natural environments, from the warmth of rubbing shoulders with her people; and that is the reason why Giorgia Meloni is so appealing to Italians and so difficult to classify for journalists, talk show hosts and academics, reads an excerpt from the foreword signed by Abascal.
