For Joe Biden, “the most dangerous terrorist threat to our homeland is white supremacy.” The President again resorted to Critical Race Theory to implicitly attack the Republican Party and Donald Trump, accusing them of hating and demonizing anyone who does not think like them. He denounced that “silence is complicity,” so “we cannot remain silent.”

“Hate never goes away”

“White supremacy...is the most dangerous terrorist threat in our homeland. And I’m not just saying that because I’m at a black HBCU. I say it wherever I go,” the President said. He justified this statement by saying that “hate never goes away... And when it’s given oxygen, it comes out from under that rock. And that’s why we know this truth as well: silence is complicity. We cannot remain silent.”

Biden was keen to boast about his administration’s work on implementing critical race theory, which he called “fearless progress toward justice.” He says this “often means ferocious pushback from the oldest and most sinister of forces.” He called on the new Howard University graduates to “fight for the soul of the nation” and put the “strength of our diversity at the center of American life.”

“There are those who demonize”

In response, he accused those who do not share his views of promoting hatred. “Let’s be clear: There are those who don’t see you. Who don’t want this future. There are those who demonize and pit people against one another. There are those who would do anything and everything, no matter how desperate or immoral, to hold onto power,” he said.

The President delivered these remarks during the graduation ceremony of the class of 2023 at Howard University in Washington. This is not a casual place and coincidental speech. It is a historically black university where most doctoral students from this community graduate. His words coincide with the controversy over the death of Jordan Neely, a black, mentally ill homeless man at the hands of Danny Perry, a white ex-Marine. Penny has been arrested and will be tried for murder in progressive Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s district.
