Actor Jim Caviezel posted a tweet celebrating the achievement of the goal set by the filmmakers of "Sound of Freedom" to bring 2 million moviegoers to theaters during its opening week. This is a symbolic figure, since it is the number of children who are victims of human trafficking and sexual violence.

In a video, in which he is seen on a treadmill, the film's star sends a message of gratitude. "We hit 2 million tickets for ['Sound of Freedom']!" Caviezel stressed that "this is a representation of the children's lives who will be saved."

Caviezel: "God's children are not for sale"

Caviezel, also the star of "The Passion of the Christ," once again thanked the production company Angel Studios for its fight to obtain the rights and bring the film to theaters after it faced rejection from Fox and Disney. In addition, he asked viewers and supporters to continue to publicize the film and help raise awareness against the scourge of trafficking: "Please continue to share this message because God's children are not for sale."

The film's numbers have far exceeded the most optimistic expectations. Pre-sales already managed to exceed $10 million. On the day of it premiered in theaters, July 4, it even managed to surpass the last Indiana Jones movie at the box office despite the fact that it was only screened in half as many theaters as the blockbuster.
