Daughter of Super Bowl winner Bruce Collie dies after crashing World War II plane

Devyn Reilly was participating in the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 air show in Illinois.

Devyn Reilly, 30, and Zach Colliemoreno, 20, died Saturday morning after crashing their plane at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 air convention.

Just after 9 a.m., the Winnebago County, Ill., Sheriff's Office received calls alerting them to an accident on Lake Winnebago, according to the event organizer. Reilly and Colliemoreno were flying a T-6 Texan, a single-engine aircraft used to train pilots from World War II through the 1970s. Authorities are investigating the incident.

"You earned your ‘Fifi’ wings," Reilly's husband Hunter wrote on Facebook. "I love and miss you." "Blue Skies and Tailwinds my dear freind [sic.]. Until we meet again." said Daniel Wotring, a friend of the late aeronautics enthusiast.

Reilly was the eldest daughter of former San Francisco 49ers player Bruce Collie, a two-time Super Bowl winner.

"I heard the plane start coming out of the sky, and it started like spinning and I told him, and all of a sudden it just made a big splash," an eyewitness told NBC26 Northeast Wisconsin. "I thought they were doing a trick at first."

On the same day, at 12 p.m., another plane crash occurred in the vicinity. EAA reported that it occurred between two aircraft mid-flight, and that the injured were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Mark Peterson, 69, and Thomas Volz, 72, died as a result of the incident.
