This Monday is Martin Luther King Day, a national holiday. However, President Joe Biden appears to have enjoyed more than one day off so far in 2024. RNC Research published a list showing that the president ended 2023 on vacation and has spent the first 12 days of this year practically without working.
Biden began his Christmas vacation on Dec. 23, 2023 at Camp David in Maryland, returning to Washington on Dec. 26. He slept only one night in the White House, and on Dec. 27, he left for the Virgin Islands, only to return on Jan. 2. After a week at the beach, he took another two days off (Jan. 3 and 4).
On Jan. 5, according to RNC Research, the president gave an "angry speech at Valley Forge," and then vacationed again in Delaware. He was there until Jan. 8, when he left for South Carolina. He gave another speech, attended a funeral in Texas and then returned to the White House). Jan. 7, 10 and 11 were also days off for Biden.
On Jan. 12, the president was in Pennsylvania carrying out some presidential duties. However, that same day he went on vacation to Camp David again.

Biden spent 38.9% of 2023 on vacation
Voz Media carried out a previous analysis on the president's days off in 2023. Biden took the most time off of any president in modern U.S. history. Last year, he was on vacation 38.9% of the time (142 days). Most days he was at his home in Delaware. He also made ten trips to Camp David, enjoyed the beach in the United States Virgin Islands, and took vacations in Nantucket and Lake Tahoe.
Comparing this to other presidents, Donald Trump spent 26% of his presidential term on vacations, Barack Obama vacationed for 11.2% of his two terms, George W. Bush spent 36.5% of his presidency on vacation, while Clinton he took 11.8% of his days as president for himself.
