Hamlin also shared the good news on his social networks. There he took the opportunity to thank all those who had shown him their support during the week he spent in Cincinnati recovering from the collapse:
Headed home to Buffalo today with a lot of love on my heart. 🫶🏾
Watching the world come together around me on Sunday was truly an amazing feeling.
The same love you all have shown me is the same love that I plan to put back into the world n more.

Medical staff pleased with Hamlin's recovery
His doctor in Cincinnati, Dr. William Knight, expanded on the Buffalo Bills safety's health status. Damar Hamlin is able to walk for a short period of time and his body is beginning to tolerate a normal diet, he said:
Mr. Hamlin has been released and returned to Buffalo. I traveled with him to the airport this morning with our UC Health air care and mobile care crew, including teammates who were with us on the field when Mr. Hamlin collapsed.
Another treating physician, Dr. Timothy Pritt, said they were "ecstatic" with the Buffalo Bills safety's recovery. In fact, he shared an anecdote about how Hamlin experienced his team's final game:
Damar was able to watch the Bills game yesterday from the hospital. When the Bills scored after the kickoff he jumped up and down, got out of his chair, set every alarm off in the ICU in the process. But he was fine. It was just appropriate reaction to very exciting play.
