Honorees of 'Latina Powerhouse Top 100' claim their Hispanic pride

Christina Aguilera, Becky G and Camila Cabello were included in 'Hola' magazine's list recognizing the talent and effort of the Hispanic community's outstanding women.

Christina Aguilera, Becky G, Nathalie Morales and Camila Cabello are some of the honorees of Hola magazine's 2022 Latina Powerhouse Top 100. The list was unveiled Oct. 5, and it includes Hispanic women "with outstanding professional achievements and inspirational stories." The magazine's purpose for the list is to recognize the talent and effort of these women, whom it describes as "essential" for the unity of the Latino community.

These awards also serve to exemplify the power of Hispanics. Presenter Naz Perez took to Instagram to express her gratitude for being honored: "Visibility in all areas is so important to me and this is really cool. I can't speak for all Latinas, but I do feel like most of us are born into an environment that sparks within us an unrelenting drive to be the best versions of ourselves and for the world."

Actress Camila Mendes, known for her role in the series Riverdale, is also proud to represent Latinos in a powerful role free of stereotypes. "It’s rare that you see Latin families being portrayed as intelligent, sophisticated, and powerful entities," she said recently.

Ariana DeBose earned a spot in the Top 100 after she became the second Latina to win an Oscar for her role in 2022's Westside Story. She recalled her roots when accepting the award: "Imagine this little girl in the back seat of a white Ford Focus, look into her eyes: You see a... woman of color, an Afro Latina who found her strength in life through art. And that’s what I believe we’re here to celebrate."
