San Francisco: Federal Building employees recommended to "maximize the use of telework" due to crime crisis

A San Francisco Chronicle report revealed a Department of Health and Human Services memo urging federal employees in the city to work from home.

The crime crisis continues in San Francisco. Rep. Kevin Kiley stated on social media that lack of safety in the city has led to Federal Building employees being recommended to work from home instead of physically going to the office:

Crime in San Francisco is so out-of-control that employees at the Federal Building are being told to stay home. The building is home to Nancy Pelosi's office, as well as the U.S. Departments of Labor and Health & Human Services.

The San Francisco Chronicle obtained a copy of the memo by Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials advising public employees not to go to their workplace due to "the conditions" around the building:

In light of the conditions at the (Federal Building) we recommend employees … maximize the use of telework for the foreseeable future (...) This recommendation should be extended to all Region IX employees, including those not currently utilizing telework flexibilities.

'Total collapse'

Kiley commented on social media that San Francisco "has reached a point of total collapse" due to the "failed policies, radical politics and public corruption" of city leaders:

If California offers a preview of where our country is headed, San Francisco offers an even starker warning. This is where failed policies, radical politics, and public corruption are in their most advanced stage – and where residents are most rapidly fleeing.
