Russia attacks Kiev with Iranian-origin kamikaze drones

Putin also bombed the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv in the same way. So far, no fatalities have been confirmed.

Russia has once again bombed Kiev three days after an attack in which at least 19 people were killed. On Thursday, Vladimir Putin used Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones to bomb the capital of Ukraine.

This is not the first time the Putin regime has used Iranian-made drones to attack Ukraine. Russian troops resorted to this technology on occasion during their invasion. Through its anti-aircraft defenses, the Ukrainian military reported that it has already shot down dozens of drones.

For the fourth day in a row, citizens of the Kiev region woke up to the sound of anti-aircraft alarms. With four months to go before the one-year anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion, President Putin continues his intense offensive against Ukraine. The governor of the Kiev region, Oleksiy Kuleba, said the attacks took place on the outskirts of the capital and did not specify whether there were any casualties.

Apart from Kiev, Russia also attacked the southern city of Mykolaiv, where a building was shelled. Its mayor, Oleksandr Sienkovych, confirmed that the building was partially destroyed by the bombing, although it was not reported whether there were any casualties.

Tension between Russia and Ukraine escalated after Vladimir Putin illegally annexed the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia during a ceremony at the Grand Kremlin Palace in late September.
