Prince Harry will attend the coronation of his father, Charles III, alone

Buckingham Palace confirmed that Meghan Markle will not accompany her husband to the ceremony in London.

Prince Harry will attend the coronation of his father, King Charles III of the United Kingdom, on May 6 at Westminster Abbey. This was reported by Buckingham Palace to the media on Wednesday morning.

The British royal family also announced that Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's wife, will not attend the ceremony. Markle will remain in California with the couple's two children, according to a statement.

"Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will be present at the coronation next May sixth at Westminster Abbey. The Duchess of Sussex will be staying in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."

This information confirms the rumors that for months have been advancing this detail. The troubled relationship between Meghan Markle and the royal family is the main reason cited by experts close to the family. Markle told U.S. media that the British royal family made racist comments towards her. Late last year, Prince Harry also published his memoirs, in which he gutted numerous details about his family. As of January 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry live in the town of Montecito, Calif., near Santa Barbara.
