Pennsylvania authorities arrest fugitive Danelo Cavalcante

The prisoner escaped from the Chester County Prison last Thursday. Since then, police have actively pursued him due to his dangerous profile.

The Pennsylvania State Police announced Wednesday the arrest of fugitive Danelo Cavalcante. A press conference has been scheduled to outline the details of the capture.

Authorities distributed aerial images in which Cavalcante can be seen surrounded by numerous law enforcement agents who detain him in a vehicle.

The 34-year-old Brazilian escaped last Thursday from the Chester County Prison, and since then, the authorities have been trying to catch him using all available means by land and air. Cavacante was convicted of the first-degree murder of his partner in April 2021. In videos from the Chester penitentiary, Cavalcante could be seen fleeing by climbing two parallel walls.

The state of Pennsylvania was on alert after Cavalcante escaped. Last week, several schools in the state decided to suspend classes due to the danger presented by the immigrant. Both the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District and the Kennett Consolidated School District decided to close their schools.
