New survey shows that Biden's approval rating hits record low and that Trump surpasses him ahead of the 2024 elections

The Republican leads the Democratic president by four percentage points, with approval ratings at 47% to 43% respectively.

This Saturday, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published a revealing survey that shows how President Joe Biden is immersed in a popularity crisis with the general elections just around the corner.

According to the WSJ, Biden’s approval reached an all-time low in the newspaper’s polls since he became president, and, in addition, he is four points below former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 elections.

The survey shows that, in a hypothetical head-to-head in 2024, Trump would beat Biden with 47% of the votes compared to the president’s 43%.

However, when five possible candidates from other parties and independents are added, Trump’s advantage increases from four to six percentage points: 37% compared to the Democrat’s 31%.

The other candidates had 17% support, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. placing third with 8% of the votes.

The WSJ reports that discontent with Biden is widespread, with the economy being one of the points that most concerns voters.

Only 23% of voters say Biden’s policies benefited them personally, compared to 53% who say the Democrat’s management harmed them.

Meanwhile, nearly half of voters say Trump’s policies helped them versus 37% who said they were hurt by them.

Significantly, the WSJ poll found that only 37% of voters approve of Biden’s performance, a record low in the newspaper’s polls during his years in office.

Meanwhile, 61% have an unfavorable view of the sitting president, representing an all-time high.

The newspaper also pointed out that “Bidenomics”, the president’s economic platform that his administration has attempted to promote through White House communications in recent months, is viewed favorably by less than 30% of voters and unfavorably by more than half.

In other important data, the survey also revealed that Trump’s policies on crime, migration, inflation and foreign policy concerning Israel-Hamas are viewed more favorably by voters. Policy-wise, Biden only surpasses Trump on issues of abortion and “political tone.”
