Musk offers to help Netanyahu rebuild Gaza after war

During the conversation, the Israeli Prime Minister highlighted the importance of demilitarizing and deradicalizing the area before starting the restoration process.

This Monday, tycoon Elon Musk expressed his interest in participating in the reconstruction of Gaza during a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Musk, who traveled to Israel to see the consequences of the October 7 attacks, expressed his willingness to help in the recovery of Gaza after the war during a talk broadcast live on X.

During the conversation, Netanyahu stressed the importance of demilitarizing and deradicalizing Gaza before tackling the task of reconstruction. At that moment, the billionaire stated that he would like to contribute.

“I’d like to help as well,” Musk said. “It was jarring to see the scene of the massacre,” added the magnate, highlighting how worrying he found it “to see the joy experienced by people that were killing innocent civilians.”

After seeing for himself some of the damage caused by Hamas, Musk opined that there is no choice "but to kill those who insist on murdering civilians."

Musk could support Israel with Starlink

In addition to offering his help in reconstruction, the magnate has expressed his intention to support the region with the satellite communication system known as Starlink.

The Government of Israel even confirmed the existence of a “principle understanding” with Musk for the operation of Starlink in the country, which could provide vital communication infrastructure at this time.

The Starlink satellite constellation has become an innovative solution to overcome connectivity limitations in remote or conflict-affected areas where conventional terrestrial infrastructures may be compromised or absent. Musk has already provided Starlink equipment to Ukraine’s front line with Russia.

Netanyahu acknowledged Musk’s commitment

During the meeting, the prime minister publicly acknowledged Musk’s commitment and highlighted that his visit to Israel “speaks volumes to your commitment to try to secure a better future.”

It should be noted that Musk’s trip to Israel is occurring amid various criticisms of the magnate for allegedly allowing the promotion of antisemitic content on the X platform. The leftist organization Media Matters made the accusation, which has led the social media platform to lose important ad content from large companies.

Musk’s company has taken legal action and sued the progressive organization for using deceptive tactics to manipulate X’s algorithm.
