Jeremy Boreing, CEO of the Daily Wire, confirms that Candace Owens is welcome: "We pay her to give her opinion, not mine or Ben's"

He wrote on his X account that her job at the conservative media outlet "is secure."

In the midst of the controversy at The Daily Wire over the statements of Ben Shapiro and Candace Owens about Israel, the company’s CEO decided to write about it on social networks. After a few days of silence, Jeremy Boreing, who founded the conservative media in 2015 with Shapiro, confirmed the commentator’s work: “Her job is secure and she is welcome.”

What happened between Shapiro and Owens? Their relationship has been strained recently due to a series of exchanges on social media. The author of “The Right Side of History” was the first to fire, responding directly to a post in which Owens cited biblical quotes.

“Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“You have been acting unprofessional and emotionally unhinged for weeks now. And we have all had to sit back and allow it and have all tried to exercise exceeding understanding for your raw emotion. But you cross a certain line when you come for scripture and read yourself into it. I will not tolerate it,” the presenter retorted.

In this context of hostility between two of the most popular faces at the conservative media outlet, Jeremy Boreing, CEO of the company, wrote about it on his social networks. After commenting that he is producing audiovisual material abroad, he clarified that he cannot “fire Candace Owens.” “That’s something Ben and I have in common, since he’s also not an executive at the company and can’t hire or fire anyone,” he continued.

He then defended the freedom of expression of his employees, among whom, of course, is Owens. “But even if we could, we would not fire Candace because of another thing we have in common: a desire not to regulate the speech of our hosts, even when we disagree with them,” he continued.

Candace is paid to give her opinion, not mine or Ben’s. Unless those opinions run afoul of the law or she violates the terms of her contract in some way, her job is secure and she is welcome at Daily Wire,” Boreing concluded.
