The Los Angeles Dodgers will have to play much of the remainder of the regular season without center fielder Andy Pages, who suffered a fracture on the back of his left hand during the Dodgers' 5-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night.
According to MLB, Pages will be sidelined for at least four weeks after X-rays confirmed the fracture. The player was hit on the back of his hand by a 100.2 mph pitch from Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler during the third inning.
Pages showed visible signs of pain, and manager Dave Roberts, accompanied by a trainer, escorted him to first base. After receiving medical attention, the outfielder initially remained in the game and played one more inning in the field. However, when the Dodgers returned to the field to begin the fifth inning, Kiké Hernández replaced Pages in center field.
