FIFA has suspended Leandro Paredes for 10 matches and Pablo "Gavi" Páez one match for their involvement in the incidents involving Argentine and Spanish players during the World Cup final, held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
According to a FIFA statement on Friday, Paredes, a player for Boca Juniors, received a 10-match international suspension and a $90,000 fine. The midfielder was one of the Argentine players sanctioned for his involvement in the clashes that occurred after the final, which Spain won 1-0.

FIFA also sanctioned Nahuel Molina with a seven-match suspension and a $90,000 fine. The Argentine player was another of the players involved in the post-match incidents.

In addition to the individual sanctions, Argentina was ordered to play its next two home games behind closed doors, although one of those matches has been postponed.
The sanctions stem from the altercations involving players from both teams following the World Cup final, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Spain at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
