The San Antonio Spurs beat the Atlanta Hawks 126-125 on Wednesday in a game that marked the De'Aaron Fox's NBA debut for Texas.

Fox, 27, traded to the Spurs from the Sacramento Kings in recent hours, scored 24 points, recorded 13 assists, and grabbed five rebounds, registering a double-double.

The forward teamed up with Victor Wembanyama for a layup that set up two free throws with 2.9 seconds left. The Frenchman made the first free throw and intentionally missed the second to try and force a long-range layup by Atlanta.

San Antonio had seven players score over 10 points in this game, marking the start of a new era for the Spurs, led by the trio of Wembanyama, Fox, and veteran Chris Paul.

Wembanyama and Fox combined for 48 points, with both shooting above 50 percent from the court.

For the Hawks, Trae Young led with 32 points but missed the final shot of the night from beyond half-court.

Bucks and Cavs win

In another result, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Charlotte Hornets 112-102 on a day they acquired Kyle Kuzma in a trade that sent Khris Middleton to the Washington Wizards.

Led by Damian Lillard's 29 points and despite Giannis Antetokounmpo's absence, the Bucks ended a four-game losing streak.

The Cleveland Cavaliers bounced back from Tuesday's loss to the Boston Celtics and defeated the Detroit Pistons 118-115 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Evan Mobley scored 30 points, hitting 10 of his 16 field goal attempts, including three 3-pointers. Six Cavaliers players made at least one three-pointer, shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc (16/38).
