Oklahoma consolidates its lead in the West after beating the Grizzlies

The Celtics again conceded a loss at home while an unstoppable Trae Young led the Hawks to their fourth straight win.

The Oklahoma City Thunder consolidated their lead in the Western Conference after beating their immediate pursuers, the Memphis Grizzlies. The night also saw the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics, stumble again and the fourth consecutive victory for the Atlanta Hawks led by an unstoppable Trae Young.

Led by Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was the game's top scorer after scoring 35 points, the Thunder increased their consecutive winning streak to 11. The win against the Toronto Raptors (136-107) leaves the Thunder with a 26-5 record to Memphis' 22-11.

The Thunder surprise the champions and remain in playoff positions

The Indiana Pacers shocked the defending champions, Boston Celtics 123-114 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Tyrese Haliburton starred for the Pacers with 31 points shooting 58% from the field (11/19), most of his misses came from the three-point line where he connected on one of his five attempts.

Indiana remains in Playoff qualifying positions with 16 wins and 17 losses.

Young unleashes with 34 points against the Raptors

The Hawks beat the Toronto Raptors 136-107 at the Scotiabank Arena (Toronto) with Young as the key man of the game after completing a double-double of 34 points and ten assists. The 26-year-old point guard scored above 30 points for the first time since Dec. 14 against the New York Knicks when he scored 35.

Atlanta scored 35 points in the first quarter and 40 in the third, taking advantage of the defensive problems plaguing the Raptors who came into the game after allowing 155 points against the Memphis Grizzlies. Tonight's loss is the tenth in a row for the Canadian team.

Good day for Florida teams

In another result, the Orlando Magic prevailed 102-101 over the Brooklyn Nets with a last-second basket by Cole Anthony. Anthony, 24, played 17 minutes and scored on just three of his 11 attempts from the field, one of which proved to be the clincher for the Florida victory.

Orlando was down by as many as 21 points, winning the final period 34-18 en route to a dramatic comeback. Goga Bitadze was the top scorer for the Magic with 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds.

The Miami Heat defeated the Houston Rockets 104-100 in a game that left six ejections, including two members of Houston's coaching staff, following a fight in the final seconds between Tyler Herro and Amen Thompson.
