The Detroit Lions survived a comeback bid by the Chicago Bears to secure a 23-20 victory on Thanksgiving, a day that also saw triumphs for the Cowboys and Packers.

The game that opened a trio of Thanksgiving Day clashes featured a wild finish in which Chicago's mistakes on its final possession tipped the scale toward Detroit, which stumbled into its 10th straight victory to move its record to 11-1, a franchise record.

The Lions led 16-0 at halftime after three field goals and a 3-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Sam LaPorta. The Bears struck back with three touchdowns in the second half, two of them on the connection between quarterback Caleb Williams and receiver Keenan Allen.

A pair of penalties hampered the Bears' final offensive series. In the final seconds of the game, they opted to run a play rather than call a timeout when just outside of field goal range, which resulted in the clock hitting triple zeros. "It was a crazy closing drive and we fought hard until the end," Goff noted.

Dallas wins its eighth consecutive game over the Giants

The division rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants ended with a 27-20 victory for "America's Team." This makes eight consecutive wins for Dallas against the Giants, and it came with both teams playing with backup quarterbacks.

Cooper Rush earned his second straight win after replacing the injured Dak Prescott for the Cowboys, while for the Giants, Drew Lock replaced Tommy DeVito (who last week replaced long-time starter Daniel Jones), also out with injury.

The Dolphins' playoff chances hang in the balance after their loss

In the third and final game of the day, the Green Bay Packers earned a comfortable 30-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins that left Mike McDaniel's squad at 5-7 and their playoff chances hanging by a thread. It was the Packers' third straight win, lifting them to 9-3 on the season.
