Golf legend Tiger Woods is making his return to tournament play. The veteran golfer announced Wednesday that he will play in the Genesis Invitational tournament in Los Angeles. It will be Woods' first appearance on tour in 10 months. The official event will be held between Feb. 15 and 18.

"Excited to be playing host next week," wrote Woods on X (Twitter).

The last tournament that Tiger Woods, now 48, played was The Masters in Augusta, Ga., last April. On that occasion, Woods was unable to finish the competition and withdrew due to physical discomfort caused by a 2021 car accident. After this, Woods underwent ankle surgery, but he still suffers significant consequences.

The golfer hopes to finish the Genesis Invitational. It will be the litmus test for his ankle after two unofficial events he played in December.

It is also the first event Woods will participate in after Nike ended its historic endorsement deal with him. Woods had been with Nike since 1996.
