California: Medical helicopter crashes into the ocean, killing at least two
Authorities reported that two other people were rescued with injuries, while efforts are underway to locate a missing person.

A medical helicopter crashed into the waters off the California coast near Catalina Island. According to initial reports, emergency services reported at least two dead and two injured, while a fifth person remains missing.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn confirmed that the helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from Catalina Island.
"I have been informed that a medevac helicopter leaving Catalina Island has crashed shortly after takeoff," Hahn said in a social media post.
"Search and rescue operations are underway and I am praying for everyone who was on board," added the Los Angeles County supervisor.
Catalina Island is a popular tourist destination, located about 22 miles from the Port of Los Angeles. The two injured people were taken to a hospital in stable condition, while emergency responders were unable to save the lives of the two confirmed victims. Authorities continue to search for the missing person.
