Amazon joins the list of companies reducing their DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) programs and policies. The company reported that it plans to make some changes to these policies after spending the past few years "evaluating their effectiveness."

"Rather than have individual groups build programs, we are focusing on programs with proven outcomes – and we also aim to foster a more truly inclusive culture," Amazon human resources executive Candi Castleberry said in an email sent to employees and obtained by Fox Business.

Amazon's decision came just hours after it was reported that Meta, the Mark Zuckerberg-controlled parent company of Facebook and Instagram, will end its DEI policies, according to Axios, who had access to an internal communication from the social networking and technology corporation.

According to this internal communication, addressed to the company's employees, it is putting an end to the DEI policies that affected the processes of hiring and training of employees and selection of suppliers.

Other companies such as McDonald's have reported similar decisions putting an end to the progressive policies that were being pushed by the companies in recent years.
