Twitter suspended the account of Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, on Thursday. The social network deleted the rapper's profile after Kim Kardashian's ex-husband uploaded a montage of an intertwined swastika star and Star of David as a promotional image for his 2024 presidential campaign. A posting that Twitter deleted just a few hours later.

The person in charge of making the decision public was Elon Musk, who assured that he had done everything in his power to prevent his access to the social network from being cancelled. However, the anti-Semitic tweets breached the rule of not inciting violence and therefore the account was suspended:

The CEO also clarified that the decision to suspend Kanye West's account was due to the star's image and not another unflattering photograph the rapper uploaded of Musk:

Parler stops negotiations

Kanye West's anti-Semitic remarks in an interview on Infowars, in which he claimed he liked Hitler, had other repercussions as well.

The rapper and Parler, the social network alternative to Twitter, "mutually agreed" to halt negotiations whereby West would have become Parler's new CEO. The social network made this decision known, which it claimed they made in mid-November, in several tweets:

West, which began negotiations to buy Parler in October, has yet to comment either on his suspension from Twitter or on the agreement to halt negotiations on the sale of Parler.
