Tom Holland quits social media for "mental health"
The actor claims that for him Instagram and Twitter are "overstimulating and overwhelming."
British actor Tom Holland, star of Spider-Man: no way home, announced that abandons social networks to take care of his "mental health". In a three-minute video for Instagram, the performer said social networks have become "detrimental" to their mental health because when he reads something related to him, he feels "trapped".
Holland had been absent from the networks for several weeks; however, he made a momentary foray onto them to make the announcement.
"I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, overwhelming," he said in his message.
Holland took the opportunity to highlight the work of the UK-based adolescent mental health charity stem4, which the actor supports through his organization The Brothers Trust.
"There is a horrible stigma against mental health, [but] asking for and seeking help is not something we should be ashamed of," he added.
