Fauci received $15 million in public funds for security and other benefits after retirement
The epidemiologist received these services between January 2023 and September 2024, according to the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Anthony Fauci's former role as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has made him rich. While it was revealed that his wealth increased by $5 million in the three years that the coronavirus pandemic lasted, and that after his retirement in 2022, he was paid up to $100,000 for each lecture he gave, it is now revealed that the former White House chief epidemiologist has been rewarded with a significant sum of money from the public treasury as security after retirement.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) drafted by the U.S. Marshals Service and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reflected that Dr. Fauci has received $15 million in security after retirement. A benefit that comes from taxpayer money.
The report specifies that these services began in January 2023, one month after announcing his departure, and concluded in September 2024. With this amount, the personnel assigned to protect and ensure the safety of the epidemiologist received their salary.
While at the helm of NIAID, Dr. Fauci became the highest paid official in the country, earning some $500,000 annually for his work at the agency alone.
The epidemiologist had to deal with the management of the coronavirus, which killed nearly a million people. A task that was more than controversial, due to the number of contradictions in his testimonies and errors in the actions he ordered to end the pandemic. However, he defended his work in Congress.
