A dozen federal agents showed up early Thursday morning at Gracie Mansion to search Mayor Eric Adams' official residence following his indictment by a grand jury.

The officers, dressed in suits, arrived at the home in several black SUVs with "federal law enforcement" parking permits on their dashboards. According to The New York Post, at least one of them is a model used for transporting prisoners, with a steel partition separating the front and back seats. Adams is not expected to be arrested. In fact, he is expected to turn himself in next week.

The feds walked into the house carrying briefcases and large bags at about 6 a.m. (Eastern time).

The mayor insisted he is innocent and claimed to be the target of the federal government for speaking out about the immigration chaos caused by the open-door policy of border czar Kamala Harris. In addition, he announced that he will fight to protect his honor: "If I am accused, I know I am innocent. I will ask for an immediate trial so New Yorkers can hear the truth."
