Donald Trump found guilty of all charges in Stormy Daniels case

In a landmark ruling, Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in New York, becoming the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a crime.

The trial centered on a payment made to an adult film actress to buy her silence about an alleged affair before the 2016 presidential election. Prosecutors argued that Trump falsified business records to hide these payments.

Upon leaving the courtroom, Donald Trump addressed reporters and expressed his opinion about the trial: "This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt as a rigged trial," he declared firmly, stressing once again that the whole process was politically influenced. "Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden Administration in order to vote to wound or hurt an opponent, a political opponent. And I think it's just a disgrace," he said.

The former president anticipated that this would not be the end of this judicial process and emphasized that for him, the real verdict would be delivered by the people on November 5. "Everybody knows what happened here (...) we didn't do anything wrong. I'm a very innocent man," he added, stressing the importance of the upcoming presidential elections.

"Our country's gone to hell. We don't have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess. We're a nation in decline, serious decline. Millions and millions of people pouring into our country right now from prisons and from mental institutions, terrorists. And they're taking over our country. We have a country that's in big trouble," he said.

Trump concluded his speech by reaffirming his determination to continue to fight for justice: "This was a rigged decision right from day one with a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case, never. And we will fight for our Constitution. This is long from over. Thank you very much."

The former president also took to Truth Social to express his outrage. He claimed that his civil rights were "totally violated." "Our failing nation is being laughed at all over the world," he added.

Prosecutor Alvin Bragg welcomes the ruling

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg expressed his satisfaction after the guilty verdict was handed down against the former president and highlighted the work done by his office.

"The jury has spoken (...) I am grateful to work alongside phenomenal public servants who do this every day on issues that everyone writes about. We did our job," Bragg said, asserting that there was no “favoritism” in the process against Trump.

"While this defendant may be unlike any other in American history, we came to this trial, and ultimately to this verdict today, in the same manner as any other case that comes through the courtroom doors, following the facts and the law and doing so without fear or favor," he added.

Donald Trump Jr.'s reaction to the verdict

Donald Trump Jr. also took to social media to express his frustration with the verdict: "Guilty on all counts. The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world shithole. November 5 is our last chance to save it."
