Robert Hur, the special counsel investigating the classified documents found in several of Joe Biden's residences, will publish his report shortly, according to several media outlets, including The Washington Post. Although no charges are expected to be filed against the president, Axios reports that there is fear in Biden's circle that details will come to light that could harm his campaign. The decision contrasts with the pressure from special counsel Jack Smith on Donald Trump regarding the documents found at Mar-a-Lago, despite the fact that the documents that Biden kept came from his time as vice president, and his access to these files was more limited than that of an acting president.

Given the confidential nature of the documents, Hur's report was reviewed by intelligence officials in recent weeks to determine how much of those documents could be made public. These conclusions must be sent to Congress and allowed to be read for the general public. Once this process was completed, the special prosecutor's team planned to bring its conclusions to light this week, according to The Washington Post, but it seems that they will choose to wait, according to anonymous sources. Attempts by journalists to obtain an official statement from the Special Counsel's Office were unsuccessful.

Hur met with Biden for two days at the White House

Hur met with Biden for two days in October, coinciding with the outbreak of Israel's War against Gaza after the massacre on Oct. 7. The meetings took place at the White House. In addition to the president, dozens of current and former officials, such as Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Biden's former Chief of Staff Ron Klain.

To get ahead of the controversy that the report will likely unleash, especially if it is confirmed that no charges will be filed, the officials cited by The Washington Post were quick to highlight Biden's was always willing to cooperate with the investigation, in the face of what they described as Trump's attempts to hinder and even deceive the officials in charge of the case.
