DeSantis uses California visit to blame the left for causing the "great American exodus"
The governor of Florida boasted that the migration his state receives from places "that impose leftist ideologies" generates "massive gains."
In a speech in Southern California, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis argued that "leftist politicians imposing leftist ideologies" always get "poor results" in the states or cities where they govern.
From the Ronald Reagan Library, DeSantis made these statements referring to the large internal migration that the country is experiencing. He noted that his state is one of those making "massive gains" from the "great American exodus" due to residents of places governed by Democrats fleeing to Republican-led areas in search of a better quality of life:
"The Florida blueprint to preserve and protect freedom"
DeSantis' visit to the Golden State is part of a tour to promote his new book, The Courage to be Free: Florida's Blueprint for American Revival. However, he has also taken advantage of the trips to meet with fellow Republican Party representatives in the places he visits. In this case, he met with GOP members from Orange County.
The governor indicated that he was also there "to share the Florida Blueprint to preserve and protect freedom." He pointed out that his state will be an example in the fight against the woke movement:
Gavin Newsom Vs. Ron DeSantis
The Republican also accused Democratic leaders of meddling in the affairs and criticizing his administration's actions in Florida, directly targeting California Governor Gavin Newsom:
Newsom sarcastically welcomed DeSantis to California: the "real freedom state." He further indicated that, in his opinion, "DeSantis' version of 'freedom' means he controls what you learn, what is said and how you express it."
