'Pro-Palestinian' activists turn their backs on Palestinians tortured by Hamas
Israel recently released videos showing members of the terrorist group torturing homosexuals, opposers and people accused of collaborating with the Jewish state. Despite the gravity of the images, little seems to matter to the progressive movement in the US and the West.
While it is no secret that Hamas murders, tortures and kidnaps Palestinian civilians it considers to be collaborating with Israel, criticizing Hamas, or just because they are gay, little or no mention is made of these atrocities in the media, nor are there any condemnations usually expressed by various Western organizations or governments.
This proves, beyond any doubt, that pro-Palestinian activists care nothing about the Palestinians, but only about demonizing Israel, since no jews, no news.
The progressive movement in the United States and the West often claim to defend the rights of religious, ethnic and sexual minorities, among others. However, they have not only justified the massacre of October 7, the worst massacre against Jews since the Holocaust, in which it is worth clarifying that not only Jews were killed, but they also look the other way in the face of the atrocities committed against gay Palestinians.
If progressives in the US and the West needed more proof of Hamas' brutality, even towards the Palestinians themselves, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released photos and videos of the torture carried out by the terrorist group against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
And as Seth Mandel expressed in an article published in Commentary, "the videos hold important historical value as proof of what we cannot pretend we didn’t know."
The horrors suffered by Palestinian civilians at the hands of Hamas
The images show Palestinian prisoners bound with bags covering their faces and writhing in pain as they are beaten with sticks, the Daily Mail recently reported.
All indications are that the footage was captured by cameras located at a Hamas base in northern Gaza, and the recordings, which correspond to events that occurred between 2018 and 2020, were found in an abandoned compound in the town of Jabalya.
Some of the footage revealed shows a Hamas member lying on a chair while a man is hanging from the ceiling, and a prisoner with a bag covering his face while being strangled by another member of the terrorist group, among others.
Regarding the persecution of gays in Gaza, it should be noted that homosexuality in the Strip is illegal, so many of them have been tortured and/or murdered.
Some homosexuals have managed to flee to Israel or Egypt before the October 7 massacre and the war that was unleashed from the attack that occurred in 2023.
Abdul, a Gazan who escaped to Egypt, told Israeli media outlet i24News that he was repeatedly tortured while in Gaza because of his homosexuality.
Abdul noted that he was forced into a very small room, where he was not allowed to sleep or go to the bathroom and there was no food. He also indicated that he was tortured on several occasions, tying his legs together and beating him with a stick.
The young Palestinian added that he was arrested every so often to be tortured in the same way and that he was made to swear on the Quran that he would never be a homosexual again.
Hamza al-Huwaidi, a 27-year-old Gazan, told the outlet about how he was tortured for protesting against Hamas, and that he was abused until he said what they wanted to hear. He added that he could even hear other protesters screaming in pain in an adjoining room.
Al-Hawaidi, who managed to flee to Europe after crossing into Egypt, remarked that Hamas controls all areas of civilians' lives, and that they even confiscated his laptop and tapped his telephone communications with his girlfriend.
The young Palestinian confirmed that Hamas severely punishes people accused of collaborating with Israel and that homosexuality carries a death sentence. He also added that he knew of one man who was tortured three times a week and beaten with all kinds of objects, as well as another who was given electric shocks for two years until Hamas discovered that he had not in fact collaborated with Israel.
But to the iPhone- and Starbucks-consuming progressives, Trump is Hitler and Hamas members are freedom fighters.
A former Israeli intelligence officer told the Daily Mail that Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader in Gaza recently eliminated by Israel, was obsessed with finding collaborators and held thousands against their will. He also said other tortures perpetrated by members of the terrorist group consisted of melting plastic on victims' skin, electrocuting them on poles or tying them to vehicles with chains and then dragging them to their deaths. Furthermore, he added that they do not allow the families to give them a proper burial, and the corpses bear a mark indicating that they were collaborators.
Horrific images of brutal and severe torture that demonstrate the cruelty and terror culture of the terrorist organization #Hamas.

Human shields
Hamas members have also assaulted people who wanted to flee areas after the IDF informed the Palestinians that it would launch an attack in those areas, as the use of civilians as human shields is another standard practice of the terrorist group that American and Western progressives tend to downplay, at best.
The cases of Islam Hijazi and Hussein Jamal
In late September, Hamas terrorists killed Palestinian activist Islam Hijazi in Khan Younis, Gaza after the woman refused to hand over charity funds she had raised for the Heal Palestine organization, which is dedicated to providing health aid to the Strip.
Hijazi, a mother of two children and director of Heal Palestine, was accosted by at least three gunmen from the Hamas terrorist group who stopped the vehicle in which she was traveling to visit patients and fired around 90 bullets, witnesses said.
The Israeli media Ynet News reported that Hussein Jamal, a political researcher in Gaza, said that "this isn’t the first of such a case." He added: "The truth is that civilians are murdered daily [by Hamas] and no one talks about it. Hijazi was unfortunately well-known; otherwise, no one would have known the circumstances or details of her death."
Last July, a group of Hamas terrorists kidnapped and tortured Gaza activist Amin Abed (35) in Jabalya, Gaza Strip last Monday for criticizing the Islamist organization, Palestinian internet users and Abed himself said.
Speaking to the BBC, the activist maintained that despite what happened, "I will not stop using my right to express my rejection of the 7 October attack."
Abed noted that he was kidnapped by five men armed with guns and machetes. He was then taken to a run-down house, where he was beaten and called an "agent of Israel" and a "traitor".

The 'Sinwar Generation,' a danger to the West
As Mandel mentioned in his article, these videos have not been widely circulated because this is the fundamental basis of the Hamas government, and to acknowledge this would be to accept that no one cares less about the Palestinians than the misnamed pro-Palestinian activists in the West: "it is to acknowledge that many Americans are attracted not to the justness of a cause but to its display of homicidal indifference to life."
It is also necessary to internalize the author's conclusion. "To discuss these videos is to confront the fact that we in the West have a serious problem on our hands and no strategy to reclaim the principles of liberal democracy before the Sinwar Generation buries those principles alive," he argued.
