VIDEO: first trailer for 'Better Man,' the Robbie Williams biopic starring a CGI monkey
The film will be about the famous British singer's childhood and rise to fame.
British singer Robbie Williams will have his biopic on cinema screens. However, it's not him starring in the film, but rather a monkey made with CGI. Better Man, named after one of the singer's most famous songs, will feature Williams' childhood and rise to fame.
The first final images from the film were released along with the trailer Wednesday. The choice of a monkey to represent Williams is because the animal has always been associated with the singer and he has made it in a way his totem animal. Robbie Williams made his own a version of the song I Wanna Be Like You, sung by the chief ape from Disney's Jungle Book.
The cast includes Steve Pemberton, Damon Herriman, Raechelle Banno, Alison Steadman, Kate Mulvaney, Frazer Hadfield, Tom Budge and Anthony Hayes. Jonno Davies plays the ape version of Williams.
