Elton John ends his farewell tour in Stockholm

The 76-year-old British singer ended his half a century career on stage in a final concert in front of 30,000 fans.

British singer Elton John ended his farewell tour on Saturday with a concert in Stockholm (Sweden) and thanked all his fans for "52 years of pure joy playing music." At the age of 76, Elton John, winner of five Grammy Awards, ended his more than half a century career that was made up of 4,600 performances around the world.

The musician said goodbye playing one of his emblematic songs,'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.’ "I will always carry you in my mind, in my heart and in my soul," Elton John told the 30,000 fans who filled the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm.

This is the last concert of the London-born artist's final tour, called Farewell Yellow Brick Road , which started five years ago but was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic and a hip operation in 2021. During his farewell tour, Elton John performed 330 concerts in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. He played in front of 6.25 million people on this tour.
