The Super Bowl is one of the Walt Disney Corporation's favorite times to launch previews for its most anticipated movies. The NFL championship held on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium saw the premiere of one of the most heavily-awaited trailers of the year: "Deadpool & Wolverine."

The first preview for the third film in the saga starring Ryan Reynolds, which this time will feature Hugh Jackman reprising his role as leader of the X-Men, did not disappoint. The trailer quickly went viral. Disney reported that the trailer became the most viewed of all time in its first 24 hours, garnering a total of 365 million views in just one day.

It surpassed the previous record-holder, "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the third installment of the saga starring Tom Holland. Its trailer also premiered during the 2021 Super Bowl, accumulating 355.5 million views on its first day, per Variety. The next most viewed was the trailer for "Avengers: Infinity War" that aired during the 2018 Super Bowl and received a total of 289 million views.

Disney's first Deadpool movie

This Marvel Studios film, scheduled to premiere on July 26, will be the first of the saga produced by the Walt Disney Corporation after it purchased 20th Century Fox. The trailer itself makes multiple allusions to the famous acquisition.

It also marks the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the "X-Men" hero that he played since 2000. Jackman's role is the longest standing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie, which will be directed by Shawn Levy, will also feature Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni and Matthew Macfadyen.
