CNN BIDS FAREWELL TO DON LEMON

The CNN This Morning anchor said that no one in the company "had the decency" to notify him in person, although the media outlet denies this version of the story.

Anchor Don Lemon was fired by CNN. In a statement posted on his Twitter feed, Lemon reported that he learned the news through his agent. In addition, he expressed:

I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I thought someone in management would have the decency to tell me personally. At no time was I given any indication that I would not be able to continue doing the work I have enjoyed so much at the network."

CNN's website also reported the change. For his part, the company's CEO, Chris Licht, issued a statement in which he thanked "his contribution over the past 17 years". He also expressed:"We wish him well and will be cheering him on.

Lemon began working for the chain in 2006. For more than eight years he hosted Don Lemon Tonight, in prime time. Until Monday, he hosted CNN This Morning with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. As Licht implied, CNN This Morning will remain on the air.
