Bloody day in Washington DC: 3 dead and 9 wounded in at least five shootings

The country's capital is being torn apart by violence.

This Wednesday, 12 people were shot in Washington DC, in a day of bloodshed that left 3 dead and 9 wounded. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that the first incident occurred early morning just after 02:05am, a double shooting in which a man was killed and a woman was seriously injured on Florida Avenue.

Another shooting was recorded on O Street around 12:50pm. Authorities explained that it occurred in the vicinity of a senior citizens center. Two men were killed, and three others were wounded.

reported that the shooting occurred near a drug dealership and a homeless outreach center.


Just minutes later, a teenager was shot in the northeast of the city. Police found him conscious and breathing.

Another gunshot victim, an adult male, was found in the southeast shortly after 18:00.

At 19:30, three men were shot near Quincy Place. Police found two of the injured victims, who were transported to hospital, while the third arrived at a medical center on his own.
