Javier Milei's victory in Argentina generated some interesting reactions. From world leaders and political candidates to Elon Musk, many expressed hope for the imminent government of the 53-year-old libertarian. Ben Shapiro, the popular conservative commentator, joined that list. He recently dedicated a good part of his daily program to the future president.
Milei established himself in the second round elections on Sunday, November 19, where he achieved a resounding victory over the Peronist Sergio Massa, whom he surpassed with 55% of the votes. His ideas, particularly how he expresses them, soon caught the attention of Shapiro, who called him the "most entertaining person in the world."
"Well folks, good news from Argentina. Cool things happening there. Last night, Argentina shocked the world by electing a Libertarian outsider named Javier Milei. Now Milei is by far the most entertaining person in the world. (...) He won a huge victory yesterday in Argentina's presidential election, vowing to halt decades of economic decline in a country reeling from triple-digit inflation," the conservative commentator began.
He then reviewed and praised the president-elect's political agenda, finding him "suitable" for the task. "He is incredibly bold, he also has suggested that he wants to cut ties on a governmental level with Brazil and China, saying he would not do business with communists," Shapiro added.
The founder of The Daily Wire then took the opportunity to review viral videos of Milei, insulting leftists, explaining why Argentina must be dollarized and then eliminating local ministries from a blackboard, shouting, "get out!"
Finally, the presenter highlighted Milei's intentions, and those of his future foreign minister Diana Mondino, to get closer geopolitically to the United States, Israel and the West.
"It's going to be a test of the Biden Administration as to what they do with this guy because if they do not immediately bring Milei and Argentina into the fold, it is proof positive that this Administration does not give a damn about pro-America sentiments in Latin and South America. This guy is begging for Argentina to make great friends with the United States. If Biden somehow rejects that on behalf of international leftism, it demonstrates full scale the impact of a foreign policy rooted in leftist nonsense," Shapiro concluded.
