Yale's campus newspaper censored a pro-Israel columnist by removing parts of an article that mentioned some of the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas against Israelis.
Sahar Tartak, a Yale sophomore, wrote a column in the Yale Daily News (YDN) about the anti-Israel group Yalies4Palestine. The article titled "Is Yalies4Palestine a hate group?" talks about the horror that thousands of young people had to experience on October 7 when Hamas came to kill Israelis.
In the article, Tartak explained how surprised she was when she saw that a group of students from her university blamed the Israeli state for "the developing violence" instead of blaming the men who went in to kill and kidnap civilians.
"Y4P glorifies terrorism, cloaking it in the language of justice and human rights to feign innocence," said the young woman.
To the student's surprise, when the campus newspaper published her article, there was an editor's note noting that the column was edited because there were "unsubstantiated claims that Hamas raped women and beheaded men ."
"I'm still collecting my thoughts on the YDN's egregious correction. But until then, what Prof. Christakis and others have said does the job," Tartak said with apparent indignation while sharing one of Christakis' opinions.
"Are the hostage-taking, murder of children in their beds, burning of people alive, and parading of nude captive women in the street also 'unsubstantiated'?" the professor's post reads.

Since Hamas began to attack Israel, several reports, testimonies and images of the bloody acts that Hamas has committed have emerged. Probably the most recent report was that of a young German-Israeli tattoo artist who was kidnapped by the terrorist group and found decapitated. The Israeli president himself, Isaac Herzog, was the one who confirmed the news.
Through social media, Israel has also been sharing some images reporting the crimes committed by Hamas, and even President Joe Biden said that Hamas is beheading children.
