El Servicio Secreto anunció la detención en la noche del lunes del conductor de un camión que se estrelló contra las barreras de seguridad cerca de la Casa Blanca en un incidente que se saldó sin heridos.
El camión, al parecer alquilado, se estrelló contra las barreras en Lafayette Square, junto a los terrenos de la Casa Blanca. Los testigos grabaron cómo el vehículo aceleró durante apenas cuatro metros (unos 13 pies) hasta que choca con la valla.

Se están investigando la causa y la forma del accidente, del que poco a poco se van filtrando algunos detalles. Medios como Reuters informan de la investigación sobre un paquete sospechoso y la aparición en el camión de una bandera nazi.
