The trailers set to premiere during Super Bowl LVIII

The sporting event is, like San Diego Comic-Con, one of the optimal moments for production companies to tease what they will release throughout the year.

There are only a few days left until the Super Bowl. Big brands are already taking advantage of the occasion to launch their advertisements with stars like Jennifer Aniston, Chris Pratt and Jenna Ortega. Production companies are set to do the same.

While many of the show and movie trailers that will be released are still being kept secret, it is well known that the sporting event, which has more than 100 million viewers, is one of the prime opportunities to launch previews for new releases, along with San Diego Comic-Con.

Paramount Pictures will release the most trailers during the NFL championship game. It is also broadcasting the sporting event (CBS is under the Paramount umbrella) and streaming the game on Paramount+. In fact, this streaming service already offered a small glimpse at its ad featuring Patrick Stewart and Drew Barrymore with animated characters such as Arnold from "Hey Arnold" and Peppa Pig.

The company released the first look at the long-awaited series "Knuckles," a spin-off of "Sonic The Hedgehog." In a move that no one expected, the streaming platform released the trailer for one of the most anticipated shows of 2024 ahead of schedule. The series will arrive on the platform on April 26 with a first season that will consist of six episodes.

Paramount Pictures to air 12 trailers during the Super Bowl

However, Paramount saved some surprises for the event. Although the company already released a teaser trailer for "A Quiet Place: Day One" Wednesday, the game will feature a longer look at the film starring Emily Blunt, which hits theaters on June 28.

Another film that will be previewed in the Super Bowl is the biopic "Bob Marley: One Love," which will be released Tuesday, Feb. 14. A preview for this movie has already been released, but the Super Bowl with feature a new trailer:

Paramount will also take advantage of the occasion to premiere, among the 12 trailers it plans to screen throughout the event, the first official trailer for "IF." The film directed by John Krasinski and starring Ryan Reynolds already announced that it had something planned for the Super Bowl and, since then, rumors have indicated that it could be the first official trailer.

Paramount+ will also have its time to shine. According to Screen Rant, the streaming platform will also give a first look at "The Tiger's Apprentice," "The Family Stallone," and "The Chi." Additionally, it is rumored that trailers for "Halo" and "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 2" could also air.

Disney to preview 'Deadpool'; Universal opts for 'Wicked'

Walt Disney Studios is another major production company that has something in store for the event. The company confirmed the rumors that it will give viewers the first look at "Deadpool 3" during the game.

The antihero film starring Ryan Reynolds has been ready for some time, but the strike in Hollywood caused its release to be postponed. It will also be the first superhero film produced by 20th Century Fox for Disney Studios, so it is expected that there will be cameos from other notable films arriving soon, such as the X-Men.

This won't be the only Disney trailer. Internal sources assured Variety that "Inside Out 2," the sequel to the hit 2015 Pixar film scheduled for release on June 14, and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" could be other trailers that are released ahead of the premieres planned for 2024.

In fact, on Thursday night, Walt Disney Studios released a small preview of "Inside Out 2" in the form of a teaser, thus anticipating that the official trailer could air during halftime of the sporting event:

Universal Pictures may use the Super Bowl to release the first trailers for four of its most anticipated films: "Wicked," the adaptation of the well-known Broadway musical; "The Fall Guy," "Kung Fu Panda 4" and the "Twister" sequel film, "Twisters."

Not everyone will release a trailer during the big game. As Variety learned, neither Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Warner Bros. nor Sony Pictures will have a preview during the game to be played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. For Sony, skipping the Super Bowl is nothing new, since the high prices of ad space have led it to refuse to premiere its products at the event before.
