Ted Cruz officially endorses Donald Trump following Iowa caucus victory

"Now is the time for us to unite to oust Joe Biden and save our country from the Democrats' destructive agenda," said Sen. Cruz.

Donald Trump added new support hours after achieving a landslide victory in the Iowa caucus. Texas Senator Ted Cruz officially endorsed the former president to be the Republican candidate in November's election. Cruz also did so in 2016 after he withdrew his own candidacy.

Through a post on X (formerly Twitter), Cruz assured that Trump is the best candidate to "oust Joe Biden" and to put the country back on the right track, saving it from the Democratic Party's policies:

I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President. Now is the time for us to unite to oust Joe Biden and save our country from the Democrats' destructive agenda.

In his post, the Texas senator included a link for all those who support Trump to make a donation to his campaign:

To help us win this fight, please make a donation right now to support me and President Trump as we work together to defeat Joe Biden & Save America. Make a strong statement with your support.

Trump continues to gather important support within the Republican Party. In recent days, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Barrasso made their support for the former president official.
