Ohio father charged with killing his three children and shooting mother

Deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call and found the alleged offender and the four victims with gunshot wounds.

Tragedy in Monroe, Ohio, following the murder of three children between the ages of seven and three in what authorities believe to be a typical homicide. According to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, county emergency services received two calls alerting them to a shooting in Monroe Township.

A first unidentified caller repeated loudly over the phone that "their babies have been shot," while a second caller claimed that from the road she saw a young woman running and screaming that "her father was killing everyone."

The Clermont Sheriff's Office immediately dispatched several patrol cars to 1900 Laurel Lindale Street where they found an adult male sitting on the front steps of the home. The adult was identified as Chad Doerman, age 32. He was taken into custody at the time without further incident. Authorities later identified him as the father of the three children.

When sheriff's deputies accessed the yard of the home, they found the bodies of three minors. Emergency services arrived on the scene, but according to Clermont County authorities, nothing could be done for the lives of the three minors. The Sheriff did not provide further details about the identity of the minors.

According to the sheriff, deputies found a fourth victim shortly thereafter with a gunshot wound to the hand. The 34-year-old woman was identified as the mother of the three deceased minors. Emergency services transported her to a Cincinnati medical center to treat her injuries.

The bodies of the three deceased brothers were turned over to the County Coroner's Office and the investigation is underway. Chad Doerman was transferred to the county jail. Subsequently, the Sheriff's Office reported that he was charged with aggravated murder for the deaths of his three children.
