'Nos-Trump-damus': former president predicted PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger

The Republican primary candidate foresaw the merger less than a year ago.

Without a doubt, “The Simpsons” takes the gold medal when it comes to predicting the future. The series starring television's most famous family has foretold many events that have occurred years later, including the arrival of Donald Trump to the White House. The former president and current candidate for the Republican nomination went viral in recent hours after, more than a year ago, he successfully predicted the merger of the world's two most important professional golf tours: the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, which was made official on June 6.

"All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable merger with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you from PGA officials who are making millions of dollars a year. If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place and only say how smart the original signees were. Good luck to all and congratulations to really talented Cam Smith on his incredible win!" wrote Trump on Truth Social in July 2022.

Following the announcement, Trump, whose passion for golf and animosity towards the PGA Tour are well known, took to his platform to congratulate the Saudi-backed tour. "Great news from LIV Golf. A big, beautiful, and glamorous deal for the wonderful world of golf. Congrats to all!" he wrote.
