Israeli forensic experts find evidence of torture, rape and mutilation on bodies of those killed by Hamas

"We've seen dismembered bodies with their arms and feet chopped off, people that were beheaded, a child that was beheaded," a reserve officer said.

Israel's forensic teams, who are working to recognize victims of the Hamas terrorist group, have found signs of widespread torture, rape and mutilation on the bodies of the 1,300 murdered in different Israeli cities and communities last week.

According to Reuters, Israeli military officials working to identify the bodies confirmed the brutal findings to the press.

"We've seen dismembered bodies with their arms and feet chopped off, people that were beheaded, a child that was beheaded," a reserve officer said.

According to Reuters, some 1,300 bodies were transferred to a special army base in Ramla, central Israel, where many specialized teams are carrying out forensic work to determine the identity of those killed and the different circumstances of their deaths.

Another Israeli official, a military dentist identified as Captain Maayan, commented that many bodies were found in a serious state of abuse.

"We do the identification with all the means that we have," Maayan said. "We see them in severe stages of abuse. We see gunshots and we see signs that are purely torture."

Israeli officials also claimed they found several cases of rape through forensic examination of the bodies.

The transferred bodies have been stored in refrigerated containers, Reuters reported.

Rabbi Israel Weiss, who was part of the army and now supervises the identification of the bodies, commented that 90% of the murdered soldiers have been identified, and teams are halfway through identifying the civilians.
