Haley overtakes DeSantis in second place in Republican primary polls

A large majority of polls indicate that the former South Carolina governor will receive more votes than the Florida governor in the primary.

Nikki Haley has surpassed Ron DeSantis to become the second leading Republican candidate in the presidential elections in 2024, trailing only former President Donald Trump, who continues to be the favorite to represent the GOP in the next election.

This was revealed by FiveThirtyEight, a website that carries out various poll analyses. The site analyzed the average of national polls and revealed Wednesday that the former governor of South Carolina has surpassed the governor of Florida for the first time so far in the campaign. She obtained 11.4% support, compared to 11.3% for DeSantis. FiveThirtyEight Senior Editor and Senior Electoral Analyst Nathaniel Rakich posted this update on X (formerly Twitter):

Nikki Haley in second in the vast majority of polls

The results are similar to those of other surveys conducted recently. A USA Today poll placed Haley with 13% of the votes compared to 10% for the governor of Florida. These results were the same as those from Rasmussen Reports, which also gave 13% support to the former governor of South Carolina while DeSantis only achieved the support of 9% of those surveyed.

Nikki Haley's rise is also visible in the poll conducted by RealClearPolitics, although in this case, she and DeSantis are tied with 11.2% of the votes.

However, the clear favorite continues to be former President Donald Trump, who has maintained his momentum and has the vast majority of support from Republican voters to become the GOP candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
