Israel's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, authorized the detonation of Hezbollah members' pagers in September, according to his cabinet.

In the Israeli counteroffensive, hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists were seriously wounded.

The news was confirmed by Omer Dostri, Netanyahu's spokesman, to AFP, who noted that the prime minister acknowledged that he gave the green light during a government meeting.

So far, no one had claimed responsibility for the explosions. The Iranian regime first accused the Israeli government of being behind the attack, calling it a "massacre" and a "terrorist act perpetrated by the Zionist regime."

Israel "has defeated" Hezbollah

Meanwhile, Israel Katz, who has succeeded Yoan Gallant as Israel's defense minister, assured that they have defeated Hezbollah.

"The blows we inflicted defeated Hezbollah and the elimination of Nasrallah is the crown jewel," Katz said.
