King Charles III of England left the London hospital where he was admitted on Monday after undergoing a prostate operation on Friday. The 75-year-old monarch, dressed in a black suit and coat, greeted the waiting crowd as he left The London Clinic, accompanied by his wife, Queen Camilla.

In a statement, the British royal family confirmed that the king had been discharged from hospital on Monday afternoon after the planned medical procedure and had rescheduled his upcoming public engagements "to allow for a period of private recuperation."

His Majesty would like to thank the medical team and all those involved in supporting his hospital visit, and is grateful for all the kind messages he has received in recent days.

King Charles III of England underwent surgery to treat an enlarged prostate. As reported by Buckingham Palace last week, the British monarch had to undergo a "corrective procedure."

The hospital discharge of King Charles III comes a few hours after that of Kate Middleton, the wife of Prince William, was also discharged from the hospital after undergoing an abdominal operation that kept her hospitalized for 12 days. Middelton will not immediately resume her public agenda.
