Ahmad Kahlot served until a few days ago as director of the Kamal Adwan Hospital, the most important hospital in the Gaza Strip and a focus of conflict in the war between Israel and Hamas. However, he was recently detained by Israeli forces, who filmed him confessing that the health center was used as a make-shift military base for the terrorist group.

Kahlot's arrest took place in northern Gaza, and he has since been in Israeli custody. The video of his interrogation was published on Tuesday and soon went viral on social media. The dialogue took place with the Israeli security service Shin Bet, to whom he told that he joined Hamas in 2010 and that he had a rank equivalent to that of brigadier general.

Regarding the operation of the hospital, he revealed that around 16 employees, including doctors, nurses and paramedics, were members of the military wing of Hamas, specifically the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. In turn, he noted that, under his management, the health center became an elaborate military base that had sheltered up to 100 terrorists.

Kahlot also revealed that some leaders of the jihadist group had private offices inside the hospital. "There is a designated space for interrogations, internal security and special security," he indicated.

When asked why that hospital was chosen as a refuge, he responded that it was a "safe place" where they were certain they would not suffer "any harm." In addition, he said that he once took a kidnapped Israeli soldier to the hospital and that he used ambulances to transport some hostages linked to October 7.

Criticism of some Hamas members: "Cowards"

The now-former director of Kamal Adwan also shot at some leaders of the terrorist organization, arguing that they chose to sacrifice them in order to save themselves. "They left us out in the open while they hid. The people are the ones who got screwed," he said.

"Unfortunately they sacrificed us," he added, later describing them as "cowards."
