The White House will send humanitarian aid to Gaza. The decision was announced this Tuesday by the Biden administration. The supplies will be sent to Egypt and will later be distributed to Palestinian civilians in the Strip.

According to the federal government, humanitarian aid for Gaza will be sent via three military airplanes to the Egyptian city of El-Arish, in the Sinai. The shipment will carry medical supplies, food and items to help people get through the winter. They will be transferred by the Armed Forces to United Nations personnel working in Egypt who will deliver the supplies to Gaza as part of the truce between Hamas and Israel.

The American aid will be in addition to the hundreds of trucks with supplies that have entered Gaza since the start of the truce last Friday, with the aim of alleviating the hardships of war on Palestinian civilians.

"The movement over the last four or five days of assistance has been so significant in volume that a backfill into El-Arish is now needed," a Biden administration official told The Hill. "There’s quite a quantity of goods on route to El-Arish from other destinations but this is a significant contribution at a moment when that fill is very much needed."
