Netanyahu to the inhabitants of Gaza: After destroying Hamas they will have a “real and hopeful” future
The Israeli prime minister made it clear that his goal is to improve the situation for civilians in the conflict zone, but stressed that this requires winning the war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to offer the people of Gaza a "real future" once his country manages to eliminate the Hamas terrorist group.
In a speech in front of dozens of foreign ambassadors, Netanyahu assured this Monday that when Israel defeats Hamas, it will offer a "future of promises and hope" to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
"We will defeat and dismantle Hamas and we will offer the people of Gaza and the people of the Middle East a real future, a future of promise and hope, but this requires victory," he said.
The Israeli prime minister also spoke about the problem that Iran represents for the entire Middle East and highlighted that it is the country that is leading an "axis of terror" that includes Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups that seek to "derail any progress towards peace."
"If they are not stopped, they will imperil the entire Middle East. If the Middle East falls to the axis of terror, Europe will be next, and no one will be saved. This is not a local battle. This is a global battle," he warned.
Hamas's ambition is global
Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of one of the co-founders of Hamas, recently spoke in an interview about the terrorist group's goals and confirmed that the Palestinian group intends to wipe out the Jews and establish an Islamic state throughout the world.
"They want to annihilate the Jewish people and the Jewish state. They want to kill everybody who supports Israel then establish an Islamic state. But this is not the end because their ambition is global. They want to establish eventually an Islamic state, a global state," he said.
Hamas ignores the lives of civilians in Gaza
Even though Hamas is the one that controls the Gaza Strip, the terrorist organization has not only demonstrated through actions that it does not care about the safety or well-being of civilians but has openly stated that it does not consider the protection of citizens as one of its responsibilities.
Mousa Abu Marzouk, spokesman for Hamas, said in an interview that since the residents of the Gaza Strip are primarily refugees, it is the responsibility of the United Nations and Israel to protect them.
