Sabrina Durán Montero, 'The Narco Queen' of Chile, was shot to death
The influencer had been imprisoned for drug trafficking. There is an open investigation into whether her death is the result of gangs trying to settle scores.
Sabrina Durán Montero - one of the most viral content creators in all of Chile - was murdered after being shot several times in Santiago, the country's capital. Two shooters targeted the victim in broad daylight and shot her up to seven times. The car that they drove was later found engulfed in flames in a field.
Durán was also known as Ina, The Narco Queen. She had been imprisoned for drug trafficking. Local law enforcement agencies are investigating whether her death could have been the result of two gangs trying to settle scores. There is a video going around on social media which shows the brutal murder. The shooters can be seen telling her that they are going to kill her and leave her lying on the street.
Despite being taken to a hospital, Sabrina died in the moment from her gunshot wounds.
'Ina, The Narco Queen' accused of drug trafficking
In March 2022, Sabrina and her brothers were arrested in a massive operation that involved more than 100 police officers. The young woman led a gang that trafficked drugs and was being investigated for the "collection, distribution and sale of illicit substances," according to La Tercera.
According to the media, Sabrina's gang was competing with another gang - also led by women - over the areas where they dealt drugs. The area was experiencing a wave of violence. Shootings were a daily occurrence.
Sabrina was controversial on social media. While she was serving her sentence for drug trafficking, she also shared videos of her life in prison up until she was granted parole.
